Made in Italy - A Fun Evening of A-Cappella’ with Mezzotono

FIVE VOICES, ONE STAGE, A SPECTRUM OF SOUNDS

Describing themselves as ‘a small Italian orchestra without instruments’, each Mezzotono performance is executed entirely with only five human voices and a repertoire that ranges from pop to jazz, bossa nova, mambo, tango, big band, folk, and classical music. Adding fresh and inventive twists to each arrangement, a Mezzotono show is uniquely original, while their often comical approach to performing makes the show suitable for audiences of all ages and background.

Performing in Johor Bahru for one night only will be tenor Fabio Lepore, soprano Daniela Desideri, mezzosoprano Francesca Leone, baritone Luigi Nardiello, and bass Alessandro Gnolfo. True ambassadors of Italian music, the group has performed extensively in hundreds of concerts around the world, and have had several prominent Italian television appearances, including appearances on Italy’s Got Talent. They released their self-titled album ‘Mezzotono’ in 2008 and their latest album ‘Mad in Italy’ in 2015.

‘Mad in Italy – A Fun Evening of A-Cappella’ with Mezzotono marks the second event of the year by The Johor Society for the Performing Arts (JSPA). With its flagship event, the annual Johor Arts Festival, turning 15 in 2018, an exciting line-up of arts and cultural events are slated to take place throughout the year, which promises myriad opportunities for Johoreans to revel in creative experiences across a range of accessible programmes.
